Pelzer, SCBy Rebecca Eddy Are you looking for the most electrifying eight seconds of your life? Do you think you can handle an entire evening? If you enjoy getting wild and watching some of the best riders go head-to-head with the top livestock, the CBR Horizon Series/NBRA Bull Riding event, Boyz & Bulls Tour is just for you!Tom Smith, vice president of the Professional Bucking Bull Association (PBBA), and president of the National Bull Riding Association (NBRA), says, “This is big league bull riding coming to a small town.” The event will be the first Championship Bull Riding (CBR) event to be held on the East Coast. “We’re really proud to be approved as a host; it’s a prestigious honor,” continues Tom. The Boyz & Bulls Tour is coming to the Circle M Ranch Arena, a world-class facility situated on 130 acres, in Pelzer, SC, from March 19-20, 2010. Created by the McCleer family, Circle M Ranch is a family-owned and operated center, which relies on their years of experience in the team-roping and rodeo business to provide the best environment for everyone – horses, cattle, riders and spectators. Details which set this venue apart from the rest include an indoor arena which is fully climate controlled with seating for 1,500 fans and an elevated seating area for judges, announcers and press representatives. Permanent stalls, an on-site restaurant and banquet room, RV/camper hook-ups and ample parking made Circle M Ranch an easy choice as the host. This co-sanctioned event produced by 3 Brands Production, Bob and Pat Cooper of Rafter C Bulls, Dale and Gwen Cox of Diamond C Bar Bucking Bulls and Tom Smith of Lazy TS, will feature some of the biggest names in bull riding, such as announcer, Rob Smets. Rob is one of the most recognized names in the world of rodeo and professional bull riding. As the only five-time World Champion Bullfighter, Rob’s reputation for being tough and fearless earned him the nickname, “Kamikaze” before he retired in 2006. “Rob is highly respected in the rodeo world and we are honored to have him with us for this event,” explains producer Bob Cooper. The PBBA will be providing the bulls for the event. These are all top-notch quality bulls coming from 15-20 different stock contractors. In order to get the best of the best, the contractors pay to enter their bulls. Each bull is capable of providing the winning ride. “We get better cowboys because they know they can win on any bull here; they’re that good,” adds co-producer Dale Cox. “These are good quality, super powerful bulls.”Along with the bull riding events, which will begin at 7:30 both nights, there will be a World Championship Bullfighting Contest on Saturday, March 20 in the afternoon. This contest will be Mexican bullfighting with headliner, Ross Hill, leading the way. Contracted acts such as rodeo clown Matt Merrit and a laser show will highlight the performances. The girls will also get in on the act with barrel racing. Women will be thrilled to hear that both PBBA and NBRA believe in giving back and promoting awareness of health issues such as breast cancer through “Cowgirls for a Cause” and “Tough Enough to Wear Pink.” “This is great family fun,” enthuses Tom. “It’s an affordable evening out. We are mindful of the economy and want to keep this accessible to as many spectators as possible.” Families can have a good time knowing that they are watching some of the best entertainment around and supporting great causes at the same time. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. VIP passes are $40. All prices are discounted at Advance Ticket Outlets.
